The Museum of Chinese in America recognized Ed as one of the Luminaries for America250, to celebrate Chinese American history makers at the Semiquincentennial. This retrospective exhibition marks the first in the series and will be on view May 14th, 2026 – September 13th, 2026.

The Hastings Public Library is unveiling a new mural of Ed’s illustrations as part of the dedication of the children’s book room to Ed Young. Join us on November 2nd for an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including art, storytime, and a scavenger hunt.

Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Award

Ed Young is named winner of the 2020 Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Author of the Year Award, in recognition for
his entire career as a children’s book writer and illustrator. Read Ed’s speech as represented in China by Zhang Hong.
