In Process

Ideas for books, exhibitions, products and whatever else Ed is thinking of.

In 1951 I was on board a troop transport boat, S.S. Cleveland, to the U.S. as a student after having been a refugee for three years in Hong Kong. I was horrified by witnessing thousands of perfectly decent beds dumped into the Pacific simply because they had served their usefulness. That sense of guilt never totally left me as I joined to add my share of consumerism to a country where waste making is a way of life. All in the name of progress. When a closet’s hidden skeletons overtakes the living areas as it certainly has, we are now facing floating continents of plastic in our oceans water and air unfit for livelihood, insecticides poisoning nature and people alike, land deprivation from landslides, forest fires and climate warming. Time is running out. This show is to invite our public to look for a grass roots solution to claim back mother earth for our succeeding generations as their birthright for a truly sustainable America again.

Five Elements Shadow Lamp

The lamp made of rice paper and wood casts shadows of the five elements. The five elements — wood, fire, earth, metal, and water — are believed to be the fundamental elements of everything in the universe between which interactions occur.
